We look forward to hearing from you! Our family has chosen to raise Cockapoos as family pets because of our love for this hybrid dog. They make the perfect family pet, plus they have the benefits of being hypoallergenic and do not shed. Even more important is the fact that they have an easy-going, family-loving temperament. They enjoy just being with the family and love lots of attention. The Cockapoo is actually a hybrid cross between a purebred Cocker Spaniel, which is usually the mother, and a purebred Poodle, which is usually the father. They vary in size from a small of about 10 pounds to a large of about 25 pounds. This is usually determined by the size of the Cocker Spaniel and, of course, the size of the Poodle. Some breeders have used standard-size Poodles bred with male Cocker Spaniels to get a larger Cockapoo. Others breed the Toy Poodle with the smallest Cocker Spaniel female that they can have to bring the smallest Cockapoo available. Cockapoos are loyal, friendly family pets. They also come in a variety of colors. They come in creams, buffs, reds, sables, tans and apricots and also come in parti colors which are popular because they are a mix of two or sometimes three colors. At this time, there is no registry for Cockapoos in the American Kennel Club because they are a hybrid. There are some clubs that want to gain acceptance to the American Kennel Club by breeding many multiple generations of the Cockapoo to gain an official breed standing in the American Kennel Club. There are smaller Cockapoo clubs that have their own registry, and you can check out the standards to each one. We currently have a female Cockapoo that is registered with the Cockapoo Association. Her name is Ginger. She is a sable and white parti-colored Cockapoo with a beautiful, wavy coat and a lovely disposition. Our male Cockapoo, Reggie, is from an American Kennel Club registered female Cocker Spaniel and an American Kennel Club registered male Poodle. Our next planned litter is due to be born sometime in February 2007. This litter will be from the cross of Ginger and Reggie. This will produce a litter of second generation offspring that will be available through advance ordering. This litter should be a mix of solid colors and parti colors. We encourage you to become familiar with the Cockapoo breed. Please read the upcoming book entitled Cockapoos: A Basic Guide to this Canine Hybrid, written by Karen Jean Matsko Hood and published by Whispering Pine Press, Inc., which is due to be out in early 2007. We also encourage you to read as much information on the proper care of dogs, because bringing a dog home is a serious decision and is something you and your family should fully commit to before planning to buy a puppy. We have already had requests for this litter, so to be fair to everyone out there, we have decided to handle it in the following manner. We will be taking advance deposits of $100 along with a request of the type of puppy you are looking for. Please include whether you are looking for a male or female, the requested color, and if you are willing to accept any substitutions. We will be selling the puppies in order of deposits first received. Second generation Cockapoos sell for between $1200 and $1500 depending upon their gender. Females are generally more expensive than males, and rare colors are usually more expensive than the more common colors. Please fill out the form below for advance orders and send along with your deposit. We will do the best we can to match your requests with the first available puppy.
